The Most Exquisite Adventure

I have often lived in the space between things.

The mystery that comes in having no answers,

In facing a journey where paths diverge,

To understand that sacred space of unexpected,

unanticipated, undetermined life

Evolves before and around you.

The space opens to deposit you before a set of doors.

They are unmarked but carry a whisper of a new direction.

Many times, they all open at the same moment.

And from within each one comes a call.

You can walk through any door and find meaning.

But there is always one door where the pull is greater.

And life draws you through to the most exquisite adventure.

This poem appears in both my poetry book, Ah, Where the Light Shines Through and the newest book, The Most Exquisite Adventure. I have spent decades writing poems and prose in hundreds of journals, on slips of paper, and the edges of anything I can write on. Through the wonderful community of Erie, Colorado, There is a growing gathering of writers and creative people in general.
